Yuhanna/John 12:44-46

İsa yüksek sesle, "Bana iman eden, bana değil, beni gönderene iman etmiş sayılır" dedi,
"Beni gören de beni göndereni görür. Bana iman eden karanlıkta kalmasın diye dünyaya Işık olarak geldim."
(Yuhanna 12:44-46)


44 Then Jesus cried out, "When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me.
45 When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me.
46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness."

sayılır=it is taken into consideration (geniş zaman = aorist tense)
yüksek=high, elevated, exalted,
ses=sound, voice; -le/-la=with; yüksek sesle=with a high voice
bana=to me; ben=I; -a/-e=to.....
iman eden=he who believes; iman etmiş=he supposedly believed
iman etmek=to believe
bana değil=not to me
göndermek=to send; beni göndermek=to send me
beni gönderen=he who sent me; beni gönderene=to the one who sent me
more literal: Jesus said in a high voice, he who believes in me,
it is considered that he believes in the one who sent me, and not in me.
45: görmek=to see; to look at; göndermek=to send
beni gören de= and he who looks at me
beni göndereni görür= he will see the one who sent me
46: bana iman eden=he who believes in me
gelmek=to come; geldim=I came
olarak (from olmak); ışık olarak= as light
dünya=world; dünyaya=to the world (dünya + a = dünyaya)
kara=dark; karanlık=darkness; karanlıkta=in darkness;
kalmak=to stay, to remain;
kalsın=let him remain/stay, literally that he remain/stay
kalmasın=let him not remain/stay, literally that he not remain stay
diye=saying that; for, in order (to), lest, thinking (that)
